The Purdue men's and women's cross country teams are in action this weekend as they travel to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in the Hoosier Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

Matthew McClintock was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, the conference office announced on Tuesday. McClintock is the first Purdue male to pick up the honor.

The Purdue men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Big Ten Championships hosted by Michigan State on Sunday. The Purdue men finished ninth while the women took 11th.

The Purdue cross country teams will have their biggest tests of the season as they travel to Wisconsin for the Adidas Invitational. The Badgers will host 46 men's and 49 women's teams for Friday's races.
